The Grenadines (group of island south of the Martinique) is a perfect playground for any kitesurfer. The best way to visit them, is trippin around on a big catamaran with some friends, as I did during 10 days. We rode some wonderfull spot, with turtles in a crysal clear water ! Mustique, Mayreau, Union, Tobagos Cays, Morpion (small island of sand ) and Canouan are the names of the spot we’ve been riding.

The wind as been consistant and blowed every days.

The trade wind is rarely strong. Should I suggest to prefer your 14 than your 7… Depending of you weight of course. On the 10 days, I’ve been riding mostly on my 12 and 13,5 Obsession pro, wich are wonderfull in medium wind. !

Some pictures before the trip is out in Kites Magazines.

From 27 october to 1er november 2011, in Saint  Gilles Croix de Vie – France, a lot of spectators came to watch the kitesurfer fighting for the European title in a side shore wind around 20 knots..

The fight for the title was incredibly close, indeed After Germany and Italy, the last stage of the KTE was the one who would crown the European Champion Between Mario Rodwald and Seb

Riding his Obsession Pro C Kite and the Brand New «Style 41» Freestyle Board, Seb was able to express himself at the highest level on this last stage of the KTE.

Mario and Seb made their way to the final. Seb showed an impressive front mobe, 313 and blind judge 3 while Mario perfomed a beautiful s-bend blind, 313 and backmobe but crashed his kite in the waves still leaving the judges with a tough decision. In the end, the French took the win.

Congrats to Seb Garat, European Champion in Kiteboarding Freestyle 2011.

With my 5th place at the last PKRA event in Brazil last month, I’m pretty confident for the upcoming event in St Gilles Croix de Vie next week. It’s the 3rd and last event of the KTE (Tour Européen). With a 2nd place in Germany and 1st place in Italy, I’m still fighting for the Européan Champion title.

I’m currently 7th of the PKRA current ranking & our last event will be in Nouméa, end of November.

After the 1st stop in Thailande, then Morroco, came the 3rd PKRA event, only french stop for the Mondial du Vent, in Leucate.

The competition started on the 1st week end (23-24 mai) with the trials with a south est wind. Then the Tramontane came on Monday, not too strong on the 1st day. The weather conditions were perfect to ride on 9, with 20 degrees. Pretty different from what we are used too here in Leucate, with 45 knots and 10 degrees.

I advanced in the ladder till the 1/4 final before a rainstorm stopped the competition for the day.

The day after, on tuesday, the Tram was stronger. Enough to ride on 6m all the day. I started the morning against Youri Zoon in the 1/4 final, but Zoon took the advantage before to win the single elimination.

The double elimination has been run right after. I had a good break to rest and to focused on the rest of the comp. I had to ride first against my mate Tom Hebert. I did a good heat : lot of power with clean and fast landings that gave me the win.

I should have make the same against Pastor in the next heat for a 6th place, but I had a few more crashes, and he rode very good. I stopped at the 7th place of this event.

Now we have a good break, and next PKRA event will be in Fuerte, in August. In Between I will be busy with some national events, RRD Meetings, French Championnship in July and other personal project.

Enjoy those few pics from the Morroco and France.
